REVIEW & #GIVEAWAY: Baby Announcements from Tiny Prints

announceIt always amazes me how much things can change from one child to another.  Even the little things like all the options available now for printing of Baby Announcements.  I remember how impressed I was the first time I shopped Tiny Prints for Holiday cards back in 2008.  I received so many compliments on the card and not just because my adorable Ava’s mug was on it.

When Shutterfly merged with Tiny Prints in April 2011, it brought together two of my favorite brands.  I am a huge fan of Shutterfly’s photobooks.  I make a family one every year, and if it’s a particularly momentous year, some vacations get highlighted in a book all their own.  I don’t know who benefited more, but all of a sudden both Tiny Prints and Shutterfly, already amazing quality products, began offering all sorts of luxe options that were only available previously with fancy printers, and at a more affordable price point as well.

tpprojectsDesigning our Baby Announcement of our newest addition, Lucas, was super easy.  The hardest part was choosing the design out of hundreds of gorgeous designs.  I had narrowed it down to 5 designs and even then still a very hard decision to make.  I literally had to take a family poll before deciding on the Timeless Treasure card.  From there I was then prompted to choose a paper type and gone are the days of those awful photo paper gloss cards.  I have always loved the look and feel of the matte cards but adding to that option, they have also added a gorgeous pearl white shimmer and a super luxe premium double thick matte.  You can also choose to have rounded corners on your cards for an additional fee.  I chose to have both rounded corners and the premium double thick matte, as well as printed return address on my envelopes for a truly complete luxurious look.

While most of the process was completely automated, I was happy they offered a FREE designer review.  Having another set of eyes to make sure your precious memento is perfect is invaluable.  For our design we wanted to include credit for our incredible photographer Katie Markquart and we were able to include a note for Designer Review.  Just to double check, within a few hours, when our order was reviewed by their designer, credit added and ready for printing, we received notice that a proof was ready for our approval.

My entire order subtotal was $287 for 100 cards.  After a quick search, I was able to find a coupon code for 20% Off and Free Shipping, making my total cost at approximately $2.30 each for gorgeous personalized, full color, two-sided, rounded corners and premium double thick matte paper with printed return addressed envelopes.  Aside for being an incredible bargain, it was worth every penny!  ( discounts can be found through my affiliate link to the right which is updated regularly.)

We received so many compliments on the card.  People took time out of their day to congratulate us and compliment us on the gorgeous announcements via email, text messages, phone calls and even handwritten notes.

While sending Birth Announcements are great to announce the arrival of your newest family member, I treasure them as keepsakes as well.  Looking at how much Lucas has changed since his birth — he’s packed on a few good pounds — I am so happy I was able to capture and create a beautiful memento worthy of framing.  In fact my next project is to find a frame to hold all 3 of my children’s birth announcements and hang it up in our family room.

{ disclosure:  I received a complimentary set of birth announcements, all additional costs were self-paid.  No compensation was received for this post. Photography used on baby announcements by Katie Markquart. As always all opinions expressed are my very own. }
