Mouth watering SHAKE SHACK burgers!!

So I’m sure you’ve heard me say it before, my family LOVES Mets baseball. All of us wholeheartedly enjoy going to Citi Field and we always take in everything that the stadium has to offer. One major aspect of our experience that cannot be out done is the many different food choices that Citi Field has for fans to eat. There are so many options, we can always try something new each time we are at a game!

Long gone are the days of a hot dog and fries or simply having peanuts and cracker jacks. Of course, those are still some of our favorite baseball game staples, but how can one pass up the chance to have a Shake Shack burger, and chocolate milk shake? My husband also recently found and tried a burger from the Keith’s burgers stand in the left field corner, and commented that it may be one of the best stadium burgers he’s ever had. Now the real dilemma he faces at the park is not first base seats vs third base seats, but rather a Keith’s burger or a Shake Shack burger?!? Our four year old seemingly had the best solution, which is to have both! We also recently had the brisket sandwich with Cajun fries from Blue Smoke, which was mouth watering and amazing! It really does seem like that every time we are at the stadium we are discovering new outlets for food and trying new things!photo 2 (2)
Citi field offers options for the biggest fans and the smallest fans. My four year old and one year old love to share a pretzel during every game, and buying one on the way to our seats has become a ritual. This season, the Mets have added a special kids concession called the Mr. Met’s Kid’s Kitchen, located in the kids Fanfest area behind center-field. For a late game treat, we tried the nachos and the kids sized hot dog. We will definitely make this concession one of our regular stops on our walks around the park.
If we are lucky enough to have tickets with Caesars club access, we will head on up there if our one year old is in need of a nap. There are plush couches and quiet corners where he can lay down and catch a few winks while we dine on some more amazing food options. The regular ballpark staples are there, but a vast array of more “mature” palate pleasers are also available, including sushi, gourmet salads and a carving station for sandwiches.
There truly is something for everyone to eat at Citi Field, and each time we are there we are determined to keep trying new things. For health conscious folks there are salads, fruits, seafood plates, yogurts, and more, while for those seeking ballpark food splurges, the options are endless.
