Birthday Party Fun at Our #Disneyside Celebration!

photo 2 (4)Every year we get the opportunity to celebrate our son’s birthday with his class at school. That also means that every year we need to come up with a theme for young boys AND girls to enjoy as well as activities in which they would all want to participate. With my (now) 4 year old’s help, and with the help of some wonderful people from Disney, we came up with an exciting party in which everyone (including the teachers) was able to get in on the fun!

My little guy mentioned that he wanted to have a Disney themed party, and coincidentally, we had received our #Disneyside celebration kit that same week. The kit included all of the necessary paper goods (Mickey themed cups, plates, napkins and tablecloths) as well as balloons and other decorations. We let our inspirations guide us from there! I decided that the best way to celebrate a birthday was with cupcakes, and so, our #Disneyside cupcake party began.

We prepared our Disney brownies and cupcakes the night before, and got our goody bags prepared which included some Disney cheer bracelets, balloons, and more #Disneyside treats. We also designed a special #Disneyside tee-shirt for the birthday boy.
As Disney so often points out, you can see Mickey in almost anything, and so it was with little difficulty that all 14 of those energetic preschoolers were able to create some amazing Mickey and Minnie Mouse cupcakes with just a little frosting, some mini Oreos and red bows or yellow buttons made of fondant to complete their Mickey’s and Minnie’s.photo (4)
The teachers were so amazed at how much the entire class enjoyed their birthday activity, and were even able to get in on the action themselves. One teacher even remarked “I guess the key to getting them to sit for this long is to throw a little Disney their way.”

Of course, everyone enjoyed comparing their decorated cupcakes and eating their creations afterwards.
It’s amazing how easy it is to throw a #Disneyside party with just a few simple Disney themed decorations and a little imagination. Disney is great for all ages and hosting a Disney themed event will always bring a smile to peoples’ faces.

After cupcake making, the children were able to put together their Simba and Nala rings (that came in our #Disneyside party package) which they all loved wearing the rest of the day. They were also able to take home some wonderful goodies, such as goofy stickers, temporary tattoos, and more! The class (teachers included had a fun-filled afternoon in which we all shared our love for all things Disney and made new Disney memories to take home with us.
