Getting Geared Up for the New York International Auto Show!

It’s that time of year again! One of my husband and I’s favorite events of the year is coming to town this week! The New York International Auto Show once again, heads back to Jacob K. Javits Center in NYC from Friday, March 30th through Sunday, April 8th.

The New York International Auto Show is simply fun for all. Back in the days, when the husband and I were dating, we loved walking up and down the show floor checking out all the fancy car we dreamed of owning one day. Being able to get up close and even being able to sit in one without someone hovering all over you was awesome. We’ve gone once just the two of us, as a reminiscent date night and other times for a little no pressure shopping research as we looked for our next family car. I have to say in that sense it was pretty great as it opened us up to many brands that we might not have considered for one reason or another. The other alternative would have been simply to narrow down choices and go to the specific car brand we were interested in. Hundreds of car brands all under one roof, showing off their car show bests, you were able to gather all the information you needed and then head to the dealership. Of course we still wandered around, touching, smelling and sitting in some of those dream cars.

When you’re walking the show, don’t forget to check out Toyota! They’ve always got an eye-catching display with their prototypes but I’ve always said to my husband that hatchbacks would make a come back and Toyota Corolla is wowing them at the show this year with their 2019 release. It’s not just all the room and convenience a hatchback provides, but it’s packed full of other super handy features like Entune 3.0 Audio with 8-inch Touchscreen, Wi-Fi Connect, Amazon Alexa Integration, and Apple CarPlay. It’s also got Qi wireless charging in the center console – gasp! It also will be the first North American rollout of their Standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 with features like lane departure with steering assist, auto high beams, and pre-collision system with pedestrian assist. Check out this B-roll and tell me if you don’t think Toyota really up-ed their game.

I’m so excited to check it out, I mean, I think it would make an awesome commuter car!
