JCPenney’s New Year #newyou

photo 4

When I got the invitation to jump start my fitness goals for the New year I was very excited. Who wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to be invited to participate in a dance workout that was taught by Karina Smirnoff, from Dancing With the Stars?  But honestly, I was also very intimidated. I have been out of shape since the birth of my second child (over a year ago), and the pounds haven’t come off as easily as I would have liked. Upon my arrival to the ‘dance studio’, and being surrounded by so many beautiful woman with toned bodies […]

About Ellie Beatus

After spending the bulk of my childhood in New Jersey, I've had the privilege of living in many different places all over the world. I have experienced many incredible things in my life, but none as amazing as when I become a mom. I may work as a full time registered nurse, but I am also a full time mother. I believe that there is nothing more important in the world than my family, and I cherish every moment spent with them. I hope to be able enrich my children's lives by sharing in wonderful experiences, teaching them life lessons, and nurturing them as they grow and help to make the world a better place for all of us. New Year and a #NewYou with @JCPenney

8R5A1817

Sometimes you just need a kick in the butt!  My husband has been pushing me to go to the gym.  Before everyone gets in an uproar, it’s not that he was thinking I’m fat, rather just out of shape.  I was always tired, unable to do much.  My muscles were always so tight.  So a little gym probably wouldn’t hurt.  It even might make me more limber and tone.  With Luca being our last, I could no longer hide behind the baby excuse.  While I’m definitely no cow, it still hurt to look in the mirror.  3 cesarean sections did […]

Disney on Ice: 100 years of Magic

photo 2

I was lucky enough to be able to take my 3 year old son and his best friend (a stand in for his brother who was home sick) to their first ever Disney on Ice Experience last week. We were at opening night for the production at Nassau Coliseum, in Long Island, NY. Needless to say, Disney on Ice Celebrates 100 Years of Magic, was by far, their greatest show yet! The kids were amazed the moment they set foot in the arena, as there was so much to see and do before you even got to your seats. There […]

Printing with a Purpose #HPFamilyTime

photo

Always trying to find ways to incorporate learning into our every day routine, I was excited to try making place-mats with a purpose.  When we first received these assignments, I was a little skeptical about how I could make this a fun activity with my 3 year old.  Using a kindle is very different than using a computer.  Boy, what fun we had!  Drawing inspiration from the HP ePrintCenter, a bevy of free printables, we set out to our task. We started out together on google. First we pulled up graphics of ABC Charts.  It was fun sorting through all […]

New Year, New You! #Mom1st #OTCSafety

OTC-New-Years-Resolution-Infographic-Final

It’s a FACT.  Mom’s are the hardest working people around.  Recently it took a very dramatic collapse at work for me to wake up to this reality.  Oh yes, very dramatic.  Being that I work in a hospital, a collapse in the bathroom means a medical rapid response.  My clinical diagnosis at the time was a severe migraine (my very first), exhaustion and dehydration.  It was a huge wake up call for my entire family, not just myself.  It took this dramatic turn of events for my family to realize I was overworked and overtired.  All things I knew to […]

Let’s Get Personal.  Let’s talk bums.  There’s a little known secret out there — some may call it a dirty little secret — about how to stay free down there.  You know, DOWN there.  It seems even my husband — and many guys out there as you will see in the video below — was privy to this little secret on how to be as fresh as a baby’s bum.  Think about it.  Every parent knows this tool all too well, the baby wipe.  It’s magical.  You trust it to make your baby’s bum super clean.  After watching this super […]

Capturing BIG Moments with the Canon EOS Rebel SL1 #BigMoment

3_Suzanne_025

I have been a long time loyal Canon user, with my very first DSLR being a Canon Rebel, the first generation.  So I know first hand how great Canon cameras are at any stage of photography.  My Rebel was one of the best investments I ever made in my life, and while a costly investment at the time, it was an investment.  It hardly ever left my side.  It was used so often by the time I was ready for an upgrade, I had rubbed off all the letters on the camera, and it showed signs of being well loved […]
