Back To School with VSP #SeeMuchMore

IMG_1076

So you’re getting ready to send your kids back to school. Moms and Dads everywhere are beginning to tackle those dreaded school supply lists that have been sent home for the kids. Everything seems like its in order and you think your child is ready for the first day back to school, but there may be one very important step that you are forgetting. Your child’s eyesight. Did you know that annual eye exams are as important to your overall health as your yearly physical exam?  Back in the days, you only went for an eye exam if you had […]

About Ellie Beatus

After spending the bulk of my childhood in New Jersey, I've had the privilege of living in many different places all over the world. I have experienced many incredible things in my life, but none as amazing as when I become a mom. I may work as a full time registered nurse, but I am also a full time mother. I believe that there is nothing more important in the world than my family, and I cherish every moment spent with them. I hope to be able enrich my children's lives by sharing in wonderful experiences, teaching them life lessons, and nurturing them as they grow and help to make the world a better place for all of us. (Ellie currently resides in Long island, NY with her two young sons and husband)

One mile at a time… #MiracleMarathon

I Joined the Journey #MiracleMarathon

It has been a goal of mine to run a marathon.  Well not just any marathon, the Disney Princess Marathon.  Yes it’s a goal.  Ask me what I’ve done to reach that goal?  NOTHING.  It’s rather pathetic.  I was a little more determined after running the 5K at the Disney Social Media Moms Conference this year, but still, even with my husband printing out the Disney Princess Marathon Training guide, I didn’t even complete one day of training. I am proud of myself, as of late, I’m actually going to the gym without any prodding from the husband more often […]

Making Packed Lunches Fun with PlanetBox

planetbox

Packing lunch for children can often be a daunting task. Between their picky appetites and their indecisiveness, satisfying my children’s unique palates can sometimes take a lot of creativity. My boys now enjoy having what we call “fun foods” to satisfy their hungry bellies. What we have discovered in my home is that the success of a particular meal is dependant upon the actual shapes of foods, rather than the food itself. For a four year old, the more interesting the shape if his sandwich, the more likely he is to eat it. Now, with his new PlanetBox Rover lunchbox, […]

Living Effortlessly with Walmart Effortless Meals

share_a_coke

I fondly always call my family as my zoo.  With 4 kids and all with very busy lives, the one thing I look forward to each day is sitting down with them for dinner.  It’s the only time, if at all, that the entire family gets together just to pause and catch up.  During the summer time, despite school being out, the kids seem busier than ever.  Between camp and all the activities I have planned for them like actually going to the zoo, the library, museums, the beach, etc., By the time mealtime hits, I’m plum exhausted.  I’m very fortunate […]

Getting to Know @BLUEMANGROUP

blueman

It’s always important to show your children how special they are. I often feel that having some one on one time with each child individually can be beneficial in making your kids feel secure, and loved. My older son loves having one on one time with his parents and we try hard to make that precious time with him extra special. Last month, my family was invited to check out Blue Man Group in the city. Initially, my son was more excited then all of us at having an opportunity to not only go to his favorite place in the […]

Not Just Another Blogger Conference, It’s Blogger Bash! #BBNYC

HexBugs

If you’ve been blogging for a few years, gone to many blogger conferences as I have, you’re probably over the Blogging 101 and other how to start tutorials.  You might be wondering what the next evolution of your blog may be and if there is anything else for you to learn at a Blogger Conference other than Blogging for Dummies.  I am of the schooling where the learning never ends, but the last few conferences I’ve attended left me wondering what was out there for someone who’s been blogging for as many years as I have been.   That’s where Blogger […]

Dining Delight at Spuntino #SpuntinoWestbury

Spuntino_Stawberry

If you know me, I LOVE FOOD!  The other night my husband and I were treated to one of the most amazing meals we’ve had in a long long time at the all new Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas in Westbury.  Spuntino means snack in Italian, and while my husband is a total meat and potato kind of guy, even he agreed, the dishes at Spuntino needed to be snack size.  Each dish is packed with immense flavor and each deserve a tasting. Some of their standout dishes were: Grilled Shrimp Scampi Bruschetta made with garlic, white wine, butter and […]

Minding your Manners Thanks to the Ritz Carlton Battery Park

etiquette class

When I was growing up proper manners and etiquette were something you learned just as children learn to ride a bike, it was expected, almost like a necessity to turn a year older. My siblings and I were always taught to use our pleases, thank you’s, excuse mes, and sorrie’s. We were expected to hold the door for others, we were required to refer to our elders as Mr. and Mrs. such and such. My grandmother used to push our elbows off the table at dinner time, we were told to sit up straight, and we were ALWAYS required to […]
