Back to Basics and Back to School with Fruit of the Loom #TGIBTS

fruitofloomBTSGoing back to school is always an exciting time of the year.  My kids are always filled with anticipation, endless questions about what the new year will bring.  This year is particular is huge for my Marcus.  It will be his very first year at full-day school.  He is simply beyond excited.  He has watched his sister go to school since the day he was born, dropping her off at daycare, starting Pre-K.  He has walked the school halls many times, wishing for the day he was big old enough to be in full-day school just like his sister.  Over the years he’s begged to go to “school” but because of his severe allergies, we were advised by his doctors to not introduce him to situations that may be hazardous to his health.  We tried hard to compensate, making our own version of schooling at home, but it wasn’t the same.  He would beg to drop Ava off at school and would be waiting at the door to go pick her up.  He longed to go to school like everyone else.  While last year he went to Nursery, it was only half day and many times he would look longingly down the hallway and ask if he could stay the rest of the day.  This year is going to be huge!

For me, it’s a proud moment and sad at the same time.  Proud that my children are growing up, moving on, becoming more independent and sad at the same time for those very same reasons.  Back to school has become very routine for our family.  I love the new backpacks, making those First Day of School signs and prepping for those all important photos.  It’s a great time to clean out the closets.  Throw away the old and too small clothing, make inventory of basic needs like socks, sizing up pants, new sets of shirts and of course our favorite Fruit of the Loom undergarments.  This year the little Miss upgraded herself from undershirts to Fruit of the Loom Camisoles, because you know, it doesn’t look right under her shirt.  I may have teared a little.  Marcus is going through a phase where bands bother him.  He was trying to convince us that going commando was okay but somehow I think school might have a problem with that. Luckily I discovered the new super soft waistbands on his new Fruit of the Loom boxer briefs which he (thankfully) loves!  Back to school can be a costly time of year with new backpacks, supplies and stocking up on basics.  We are always looking for a bargain and some of the best to be found are during Back to School sales. Fruit of the Loom always runs amazing Back to School specials.  This year exclusive Fruit of Loom packs at Walmart stores nationwide (and online)  come with 3 free garments in each pack making it a total steal!

No matter what my kids choose to wear now, I at least know they are comfortable underneath thanks to Fruit of the Loom!
