Get Hands On with your iPad and the OSMO Genius Kit

osmo-imageIf there’s one thing my kids are addicted to it’s their iPad much to the chagrin of their parents. Everyone is worried about too much screen time and not enough of hands-on learning. The  award-winning OSMO iPad Gaming System was a game changer.  It changes the way children interact with their iPad by opening it up to hands-on play and we are absolutely obsessed at our house.  It is so loved, I actually have to hide OSMO as soon as we are done with “supervised” playing, lest we lose some of those valuable pieces that makes OSMO well… OSMO.

img_0823The games are designed for ages 5 and up, but really it is appropriate for any age.  My 3 and a half year old was a quick study of the Tangram component.  What I loved most about the game, while there was a gradual stepwise learning system, one could stay in the same level, whether easy, medium or hard, and continue play at that one level as well as vacillate between the 3 levels. Same goes for Masterpiece and Newton, games that didn’t need physical pieces but employs the same concepts as OSMO.   I’ll even admit that I became a bit obsessed with the games themselves with Tangram as my favorite of all. The kids were just amazed by how OSMO was played and wondered how their iPad knew exactly what they were doing even if it wasn’t directly on the screen. MAGIC darling, magic!

img_0838OSMO gives kids a fun, exciting, and creative way to explore science, words, art, numbers and so much more while fostering creativity, problem solving, and social intelligence skills. Concerns about too much screen time was definitely not an issue when considering with OSMO.

OSMO is also visually stunning in its simplicity. It comes in a beautiful boxed set that keeps together with magnets. It would make a wonderful birthday or holiday gift for any child that loves their iPad a little too much.
