One mile at a time… #MiracleMarathon

Style3_300x600_staticIt has been a goal of mine to run a marathon.  Well not just any marathon, the Disney Princess Marathon.  Yes it’s a goal.  Ask me what I’ve done to reach that goal?  NOTHING.  It’s rather pathetic.  I was a little more determined after running the 5K at the Disney Social Media Moms Conference this year, but still, even with my husband printing out the Disney Princess Marathon Training guide, I didn’t even complete one day of training.

I am proud of myself, as of late, I’m actually going to the gym without any prodding from the husband more often than not.   That’s pretty huge for me as someone who use to be a gym rat but has been buying time thanks to somewhat good genes, having not blown up into a fat pig with the amount of food I can consume in any one sitting.  I realized that I lacked motivation. until I came across the Miracle Marathon.  I’m always looking for an opportunity to do good and this isn’t your traditional marathon.  Instead, it’s just 1 mile a day, for 27 days, all to help kids at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and my sponsored children’s hospital, Cohen Children’s Medical Center.

If you know me, I never do things half heartedly.  When I commit, you can be darn sure it’s going to get done one way or another.  Sooooo…  I’ve decided to be a team captain for Miracle Marathon, and I want YOU to join me!   Please consider a donation, sponsoring my Miracle Marathon, or EVEN BETTER!!!  I would love if you would consider joining my team and helping me raise awareness and money for Cohen Children’s Medical Center, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

Style1_300X250_staticOver the course of 27 days, you simply complete one mile per day by walking, running, dancing, skipping or any exercise you like. Since a traditional marathon is 26.2 miles, Miracle Marathon adds a special touch by adding one extra mile “for the kids.”  Each day, we are also encouraged to raise just $10, all of which helps kids at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Miracle Marathon starts Sept. 16, and I truly hope you will join me in this amazing journey.

It just takes a few minutes to register for Miracle Marathon.  Visit http://www.miraclemarathon.org/team/momconfessionals to sign up and join my team!  If running really isn’t your thing, please consider a donation through http://www.miraclemarathon.org/participant/smchanrn!
