Aiming for a healthy start to the new school year, we’ve teamed up with Sonicare! Oral health has always been super important in our family. I’ve had my share of dental issues from pregnancy induced severe enamel loss to countless cavities and root canals — not to mention thousands of dollars — which lead to an intense fear of the dentist. My sweet tooth never helped the situation. While my new discovery and love of nitrous gas, which now I must have included in every dental visit to relieve anxiety, I’ve learned that proper oral care can go a long way to making each visit better.
I always like to start the school year off with a clean slate. My kids always have a dental check up in September and a repeat in March. My fear of dentists luckily haven’t rubbed off on my kids. Despite the Little Miss A’s penchant for sweets and her obvious oral genetics taken from me, she LOVES dental visits. Last year, at the tender age of 5, she already has had 6 cavities which needed to be addressed. I hang my head in shame. Thanks to the oral education from her amazing pediatric dentist, after that visit, we were armed with a new Sonicare toothbrush for her and we’re excited to see our dentist in a few weeks, hoping for a much nicer visit this year.
Since the start of my oral issues, Sonicare has become a staple in our home. Do you LOVE our collection of SONICARE brushes? Everyone in our family has their very own. I especially love our Sonicare brush for my 3 year old who I struggle to get to brush his teeth every day. Much more effective than a manual toothbrush, if I am lucky enough to be brushing his teeth I know it’s getting a good cleaning in that brief moment.
It’s true, our collection of Sonicare brushes cost us a pretty penny. In fact, while recommending a Sonicare toothbrush for my daughter, the dentist had to preface that it was expensive, but highly recommended. With oral care being high priority in my family, it was a no brainer. But now, the #1 recommended power toothbrush brand in the US, Philips Sonicare just released the Sonicare Power Up. For an amazing under $20, the battery powered Power Up gives you a Sonicare clean on a budget. Power Up removes 2X more plaque in hard to reach places than a manual brush can and the 2-minute timer ensuring you brush the minimum amount of time, improving gum health and reducing cavities. This makes it a perfect option for the whole family! We love the fun orange and blue colors! It’s a great, and affordable way to upgrade your oral health routine past the age-old manual toothbrush.
