REVIEW: Britax Frontier 90 Booster Seat

Britax is always surprising me with their most intuitive innovations.  They have become the brand I trust the safety of my children to.  Their newest Harness to Booster seat, the BRITAX FRONTIER™90 does not disappoint.  With the recent findings that Latch installation systems have a maximum weight limit, Britax comes to the market with an innovative and yet simple solution called their ClickTight™ Installation.

When I say it’s simple, it really couldn’t be any easier.  You simply place the seat into position, pop open the seat opening, thread your seat belt through.  Remove any slack and simply close the seat.  With the audible click, you will know that the seat is locked into position.  General rule for car seat installation is no wiggle room greater than 1 inch each side.  With the simple ClickTight™ Installation, this seat doesn’t budge at all.  It literally becomes one with the seat and ensures a safe, secure installation each and every time.

I am extremely appreciative of the Harness to Booster flexibility of this seat.  While he thinks he is a BIG boy, he’s only 3 years old and definitely not trustworthy or safe enough to sit with a stand-alone belt system.   It allows my big boy to sit in a booster seat just like his older sister, with the safety that I have come to trust Britax for in a harness.

In addition to the ClickTight™ technology, the seat features safety features including SafeCell Technology® that compresses and lowers the center of gravity and reduces forward head movement, integrated steel bars that strengthen the seat’s connection to the vehicle, reducing forward-flexing, and energy-absorbing Versa-Tether®, which is a patented stage-release tether designed to slow forward movement.

The BRITAX FRONTIER™90 accommodates a child up to 90 pounds in a harness mode and 120 pounds for a belt-positioning booster mode and retails for $329.99.
