We were recently on hand for the grand opening of Ann Taylor‘s Concept Store at Roosevelt Field Mall, Long Island in partnership with the Junior League of Long Island, a not-for-profit organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and to improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers in the Long Island area. Five percent of the sales proceeds from the event was donated to Junior League of Long Island.
If you haven’t been into an Ann Taylor recently, now is the time to check it out. Under the brand’s new head of design, Lisa Axelson, since 2009, Ann Taylor has undergone a transformation which has not gone un-noticed by us. About the time Axelson came on board, it had been years since I last entered an Ann Taylor store. One day in passing, I was struck by a beautiful sweater with a ruffle sleeve detailing hanging in the shop window. I am if nothing, a sucker for details. My love for Ann Taylor was renewed from that point on.
The new Ann Taylor is chic and stylish, while it is geared more towards the modern working woman, there were items for this simple mom to find her groove again. Check out these gorgeous shoes I snagged, the Reid Stretch Canvas Sandal, originally $178.00, on sale for $89.99 with an additional 50% off, I got it for an amazing $44.99!
The store is set up in an incredibly intuitive format with a glam homey feel. With the key looks for the season front and center, runway style, clients can shop straight from the mannequins or go straight to the various shop in shops. Looking for dresses, it’s all contained in one section. Need something chic for work, visit their extensive suiting collection. Adjacent to the modern and sleek dressing rooms is a gorgeous plush lounge with a state of the art touch screen helping clients find additional product information.
Lucy Sykes, former fashion editor at Marie Claire and children’s clothing designer, was on hand to give some tips on pulling together that Ann Taylor look for the event but day-to-day there are always stylists on hand for personal consultations.
