Today’s New York deal is a $25 ticket to Cookies for Cancer at Moomah. This fundraiser isn’t just personal to me as a healthcare professional, but also because my friend, Jessica Shyba of Momma’s Gone City is co-hosting. Cookies for Cancer is founded by Gretchen and Parry Witt, parents of 2 ½ year old son Liam’ s who lost his battle to cancer this past year, Cookies for Cancer aims to raise funds for pediatric cancer. The idea for the non-profit initiative came when the Witts learned that the main reason over 25% of children diagnosed with cancer do not survive is because of lack of effective therapies. It breaks my heart every time one of my patients is diagnosed. They are the smallest of patients and yet the bravest by far. And the reason for the lack of effective therapies is due to lack of funding.
This event will take place at Moomah, 161 Hudson Street NY, NY 10013. Moms can meet, indulge in snacks and take part in a raffle with amazing prizes including a Spa Day at the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park, an amazing Oeuf Perch Bunk (worth $1500) and a Britax B-Ready Stroller . Held next Monday, May 23 from 2-4 p.m., this event will be a fun way to connect with other downtown moms. Normally priced at $35, tickets are only $25 with Gaggle of Chicks underwriting $10 of each ticket. They are donating the proceeds entirely to Cookies for Cancer — YAY Gaggle! I’ve got my ticket, do you?! Hurry because there are only 50 tickets available!
