I recently, courtesy of TravelZoo, got a chance to discover a hidden gem, Kirakuya Sake Bar. Already a love of anything Japanese and tapas, I couldn’t wait to try out their menu of Japanese-fusion tapas. Kirakuya Sake Bar is located in the heart of Korean-town and if it weren’t for this fabulous deal, I might never have discovered it. The deal included a bottle of sake, two appetizers, three tapas, and two desserts, a $159 value for only $49! Using this opportunity to spend some quality time with my favorite cousin, we noshed and chatted over, their fruity version of bruschetta, roasted edamame, and devoured their Washu beef in a soy broth — it was heavenly…amongst other things. My favorite might have been the yogurt pannacotta. It was topped with a yuzu jelly and had a smooth subtle flavor that was not too sweet.
I later learned that the voucher got you a special menu just for the special and not the full offering that Kirakuya provides which was a little saddening but what I didn’t know didn’t hurt me. The food was still delicious and I didn’t think anything was missed, although for real value we should have had some sake but this breastfeeding mom is sans alcohol for the time being.
Checking out this weeks deal, I snagged an awesome deal for the husband, $79 for a round of golf at the members only, Golf Long Island National. It comes with Lunch & Drink for a $155 value although looking at their membership prices, it’s the value that only a member can get.
I do wish that they had referral bonuses but their deals are too sweet to pass still!
