Holiday Gift Guide & Giveaway: For the Grown-Ups

The team at Kodak has come up with two amazing Holiday musts for the grandparents and anyone who loves photo gifts.  We are absolutely in love with Kodak Pynk.  It’s a new way to frame photos.  No more cutting, taping and finding the “right-sized” images for those multi-image frames.  Pynk comes in various frame sizes and options and what use to take hours, takes seconds!  I can see every year printing a new set of images and replacing Grandma and Grandpa’s frame with update photos of their beloved grandchildren.  Just pick the frame, select the images and print it!  Starting at $19.99 for the 8″ x 10″ frame and $7.99 for the prints, its an affordable and long cherished gift for anyone!  I’m hoping they make larger frames and the ability to order Pynk prints online.  Would it be so cool to send the grandparents an updated sheet every year for the holidays?

Yes I do love photo gifts!  and my other favorite product from Kodak Gallery is their new photo books with SmartFIT technology.  They have taken out the headache of making beautiful quality photo books.  These are perfect for moms like me with a bevy of gorgeous photos and neither the time or creativity for hours of photo book designing.  They have streamlined and simplified the entire process.  Just upload an album or select from existing photos from your collection and Kodak will chronologically arrange and layout the images for you.  Just in case you’re feeling like dabbling a little in design, you can change backgrounds, switch layouts, add captions all with just a few clicks!  This was the perfect solution for this mom who wishes she could make photo books but has been so turned off by all the formatting and downloading, not to mention the learning curve for each system.  I made my first photo book and I can’t decide if I want to keep it or give to the grandparents…

For the tech-loving dad or Uncle we love the Jabra STONE.  I’ve raved about it before and while it didn’t quite “fit” me, my husband laid claim to his a long time ago and believe you me, he won’t be parting with it anytime soon.  It is an awesome piece of multi-function gear.  Not only does it operate as a bluetooth phone piece, it can also be used as a regular headphone to listen to mp3’s, the radio, watching movies or you tube videos on your Bluetooth phone.  I love how inconspicuous it is — completely boom and wire free!  While that might raise some concerns, Jabra uses state of the art phonic and noise cancellation technology that keeps its beauty and function front and center.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’d love a NOOK.  Not that there’s a lacking of e-reader options out there, but NOOK Color is the latest and greatest shipping just in time for the holidays.  I wavered between an iPad and a NOOK.  For an apple gal like me to admit to choosing another pains me, but for the price and the options, I think a NOOK can’t be beat.  With my recent foray into the world of book clubs, I’m loving their LendMe feature since book purchases still hurt the pocket despite the cheaper pricing vs paperback. Won’t someone let Santa know that this mom would LOVE a Nook with one of those snazzy cases for Christmas please? =0)

Logitech Revue Companion Box with Google TV and Keyboard Controller.  Words couldn’t even begin to tell the awesomeness of this product!  This definitely is turning out to be a tech-lovers gift guide but I love anything that brings together all of my entertainment into one.  You can surf the web, stream movies and music from your computer as well as access thousands of TV shows, movies and special programs straight to your HDMI enabled TV screen.  It works seamlessly with your satellite or cable TV without any additional monthly fees!  I’ll be doing a more in-depth review soon!

Okay, so maybe things in these price ranges might be out of some peoples reach.  Maybe you can’t buy jewelry for mom, but perhaps a beautiful jewelry tree — with promises to fill someday? =0) — from Target only $24.99 or even some gorgeous ruffled leather gloves for $17.99?

Got a mom, dad, aunt, uncle or even a really hip grandparent with an iPhone?  We’re totally loving Case-mate’s new line of iPhone 4 covers which include the luxurious Reptile Barely There Wrap Case which will have any lady that lunches drooling and the Barely There 2 Series which brings out the James Bond in any man with their gun metal case and genuine leather accent.  Both are $39.99 and are available at where stylish cases for blackberry and other smartphones are also available.
