Confession, Rants and Raves

  • I just learned that constipation is different than infrequent stools.  If the poo is still normal and soft but not going frequently, that means infrequent stools.  If the poo is hard after a lot of grunting and straining, that is constipation… duh!  You’d think as repeat mom I’d know this already.
  • I have a bad temper like my father and it scares me.  I fear the anger I feel rising in me when I get frustrated with my 2 year old. I must chant “she’s only two” over and over again.
  • I just had a Superbowl party where the only thing I made from scratch was the hamburgers.  I felt a little guilty as everyone raved about the food, but no one asked if I actually made it all.  DH was the cook.  He did all the grilling and the frying.  I managed the organization and display… you know, the important stuff.
  • I’m mad I didn’t get a complete annual Superbowl kid’s party picture.
  • I enjoyed all the free babysitting I got during the party as Ava took care of herself and entertained everyone and Marcus got happily passed around from person to person being ooh and ahh and cooed at.  Both were happy as pie!
  • I get really mad when my husband says he works harder than me but at the same time I think I have the better job.  I think he’s just jealous even if I don’t think he’d survive one day as me.
  • Lately I seem to say really inappropriate things without thinking.  I want to smack myself sometimes.  Can I blame it on lack of sleep?
  • Is feeling really guilty for not being more stringent with cloth diapering, especially since my sister so generously bought me the starter kit which he will soon grow out of.  If it’s any justification, I only have 3 covers and he leaks into them every single time which results in a need to do laundry.  Remembering to do laundry after dumping it in the bucket is a whole other story.
  • Make myself feel better by giving Ava Shaklee Baby’s Multivitamin & Multimineral Powder to make up for not enforcing a more complete food pyramid.
  • I did not work out at all today. All I need is 20 minutes, but somehow can’t seem to find the time.
  • I admit to using Dora the Explorer as a bribe for my daughter to eat when I tell her, to go to bed right afterwards…
  • I am also relying on Chinese Disney DVD’s to teach my daughter Chinese because my abilities are lack thereof.
